Meron Wondwosen is an Assistant Director in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection. In this role, Ms. Wondwosen designs strategies to identify and manage emerging consumer protection risks and develops and implements the 多宝游戏下载鈥檚 deposit insurance policy, including coverage and compliance issues. Ms. Wondwosen has assisted in drafting several rules related to deposit insurance regulations including the recently finalized amendments to Part 328 relating to the official sign, advertising statement, misrepresentation, and misuse of 多宝游戏下载 name or logo (Part 328) as well as the proposed rule on record-keeping for certain custodial accounts (Part 375). Prior to her role as an assistant director, Ms. Wondwosen was a Senior Policy Analyst serving as a subject matter expert on a variety of issues relating to 多宝游戏下载 deposit insurance rules. She has served on and let multiple interdivisional committees to consider and issue deposit insurance regulations and guidance. Ms. Wondwosen is the primary author of the Financial Institution Employee鈥檚 Guide to Deposit Insurance, the 多宝游戏下载鈥檚 most comprehensive manual on deposit insurance rules.
Prior to joining the 多宝游戏下载, Ms. Wondwosen was an associate director of the democracy program at D膿mos, a public policy think tank in New York City. She began her career as a corporate attorney with Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP. Ms. Wondwosen holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and French from Iowa State University and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Howard University School of Law.鈥疭he is licensed to practice law in New York.
